Social Host

Busy Philipps, the social media ambassador for this year’s SAG Awards, is best known for her work on the hit sitcom “Cougar Town,” which can be seen Tuesdays at 10/9c on TBS. Philipps plays Laurie, the feisty protégé to realtor Jules Cobb (Courteney Cox). With their group of friends known as the “cul-de-sac crew,” they support each other through the challenges and pitfalls of life — with a little dysfunction and a whole lot of wine.

In addition to “Cougar Town,” Philipps has had TV roles in “Dawson's Creek,” “Freaks and Geeks,” “Undeclared,” “ER,” “Love, Inc.” and “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.” Film credits include “Made of Honor,” “He’s Just Not That Into You” and “I Just Don’t Know How She Does It.” Her next big-screen role will be opposite Justin Long, Evan Rachel Wood, Brendan Fraser, Peter Dinklage and Sam Rockwell in “A Case of You,” due for release in 2013.
